Our Story

Coming Home

A love of gardening inherited from my mother. Long after being sent away to school, visits home would always start with a wander around the garden, a fresh bunch of blooms stolen for the kitchen or bedside table. School turned into "a year" of travelling, 25 of which were spent in England. My love of a house full of beautiful flowers endured, with a weekly bunch from the train station flower stall my Friday evening ritual.

Working in Banking,  flowers became my happy place, an essential element to entertaining, it became understood for those invited for supper that the house would look amazing, but guests would be participating in the actual cooking of said supper. Flowers have always been much more important! Gradually as my stamp sized flat became a house with a garden my love for gardening and design became my antidote to a long week spent in the office.

Sadly with the loss of my mother and the decision to sell "The Little House at Binnum", I decided it was time to try coming home so I purchased it from my brother to keep it in the family for a few more years.

Each day is now a new challenge with developing the little farm into the beautiful place I always imagined it would be. Restoring the woolshed to its former glory and establishing the Provence inspired lavender rows and flower field I dreamt of as a young girl

Our Philosophy
IMG_1800.JPG

We cultivate more than just stems; we cultivate quiet moments of beauty that connect you to the earth. Our process is intentional, slow, and rooted in the richness of the South Australian seasons.

From the first dahlia tuber planted to the seasonal garlic harvest, the Wild Garden is where the world slows down.

Flowers are selected for beauty and fragrance. When breathing in the utter deliciousness of fresh flowers one should only be greeted with floral aromas, not nasty chemicals, so spraying is avoided - which may result in an occassional nibbled petal, just as nature intended!
